Yes, the Patrick Family does have a Titanic connection! Benjamin Guggenheim was one of the First Class passengers aboard the Titanic when it hit an iceberg. Ben was the Guggenheim who spent the most time in Leadville tending to the family’s mines, the AY and the Minnie, which were right next to W.F.’s Col. Sellers Mine. Ben attended several parties given by Annie and W.F.
Also, it is rumored that Lucien was somehow connected to the Little Johny Mine and made his first fortune. The Little Johny is famous for creating the wealth that allowed Margaret Brown to also be a passenger on the Titanic. I haven’t been able to confirm that Lucien was an investor in the Little Johny nor do I know if he ever met John Brown or his wife.
